Love, Sex &
Relationship Addiction:
a Quest for
Wholeness
(Men only)
|
Gary Simpson
Elder and therapist
|
|
|
|
This interactive and experiential workshop will explore some
of the fundamental themes around Love, Sex and Relationship addictions and
how they provide insights and pathways into each man’s quest for Wholeness
and Love.
As Dr. Harville Hendrix , author,
family & couples therapist, says, "We are born in relationship. We
are wounded in relationship. And, we are healed in relationship."
In this workshop you will learn about some of the common forms
of relational co-dependence for men, how these can become roadblocks to
loving and lasting relationships. How to remove these roadblocks, and
develop pathways that actually lead to healing and wholeness.

Creating Safety in
Relationships
(women only)
|
Robyn Isaacs
Gestalt therapist
|
|
|
|
For Women who have experienced some abuse in their relationships
or childhood, and would like to learn new skills in living and loving
respectful relationships.
As a co-facilitator of
groups for women who have experienced abuse, I am privileged to explore
ways unpacking what exactly is abusive behaviour; this does not always mean
physical abuse. However, it is important as we accept responsibility for
our own behaviour; we are never responsible for someone else’s actions.
Together we unpack all the different faces of controlling
behaviour; abuse can be verbal, emotional, physical, psychological, social
or Sexual. Isolation plays a large
part in this cycle, without awareness it is easy to normalize or minimalise each action, though when looked at, we can
start to lift the veil on this Issue.
We look at the cycles of violence, we can become trapped in,
and learn new techniques of negotiation and empower ourselves with safe
ways of communicating, and creating stronger boundaries that lead to
healthy choices and loving ways of relating.

The Heart -
Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually
(men only)
|
Mark Purcell
yogi and
physiotherapist
|
|
|
|
The aim of this workshop, which by the way is for both Men and
Women, not just for Men as advertised in the brochure, is to take the
participants on a journey through these three levels. We will be doing some
experiential work on these levels to help those attending to tap into the
Heart and gain further insights into this wondrous part of our beings.
We will look at recent research, which has been able to
scientifically prove the connection between the Heart and our states of
wellbeing.
Interestingly for me, this is a confirmation of what I have
always "felt" to be true, and what I have learned from my study
of Yoga. However it is good to see the "Joining
" of science and Spirit.
I welcome you to come on this journey with me at "The
Joining", and I look forward to our connection.

The Spirit of
Gender
|
Terry Bishop
|
|
|
|
On the journey to wholeness, each of travels through phases of
life that are more oriented to the masculine or feminine ways of perceiving
and responding to the world within and the world of form we encounter
through our senses. In the 21st century, the polarities are reversed from
what was modeled for us by previous generations. We have moved on from the
old stereotypes, but most of us are yet to find ways to balance the power
of masculine presence with the openness of feminine surrender.
In this workshop, we’ll look more deeply into the archetypal
masculine and feminine principles and enquire into our preferences as they
exist within each of us, and how our orientation may be influencing our
relationships. We’ll also explore techniques to find balance within
ourselves and become skillful in our choices of how we orient ourselves in
different situations.

Opening and Closing
ceremonies with Ceremony Master Robin Clayfield, The Joining Elders and
others.
|
|
|
Powerful and moving ceremonies which open and
close the gathering with depth, joy and reverence.
Dreaming
and designing of our Joining Ceremonies will reflect the needs,
themes and energies of the community gathered together for this, the
6th 'Joining'. Each year the ceremonies gather more power and
potency as the energy of the Joining builds and the Elders stand more
strongly in their power and beauty. Song, sound, rhythm and motion weave in
and around actions of power and intent to create ceremonies to inspire
and meet the need of the day. (It is important energetically to begin the
journey into The Joining as a whole community, in ceremony, and to complete
together before going back out into the world. Please arrange your plans so
that you are able to be there the whole time, from start to finish. Thank
you.)

The Ritual of Balance
with Robin Clayfield and the Joining Elders
|
|
|
|
|
|
The heart beat of the drums provides a powerful container for
this sacred ceremony. Gifted as 'The Shaman Dance' of Native
American origin, the ritual shifts and changes to meet the needs of the
Joining Community gathered at this time on the land at Huon Maddock Dam. In
the darkness, in silence and patience, we enter through 5 gateways to walk
the circle in preparation for the dance of the Masculine and Feminine.
Bring all to balance in the rhythm of the dance and the sacredness of the
circle. (In preparation for the Ritual you are asked to bring an object
that symbolises something that you are ready to 'give away' and let go of
forever. It needs to be something that with decompose in the soil without
being toxic, thanks.).
